PARADOX - Function: noun
1. a tenet contrary to received opinion.
2. a statement that is seemingly contradictory or opposed to common sense and yet is perhaps true/an argument that apparently derives self-contradictory conclusions by valid deduction from acceptable premises.
CONTRADICTION - Function: noun
1. a statement or phrase whose parts contradict each other.
2. logical incongruity; a situation in which inherent factors, actions, or propositions are inconsistent or contrary to one another.
I am the former, not the latter.
All of my beliefs and seemingly opposing actions coexist as part of a single truth--myself.
You can't understand one part of me without recognizing an equal and opposite portion lurking somewhere in my psyche. Neither can I.
I'm my own opposite reaction to my every action. I am a pendulum.
I'm a mystery religion, irreconcilable through logic, needing faith in order to exist.
When you first look at me, I'm a walking conflict. Every action and opinion seems divorced from every other. I'm random.
Look a little deeper, ask for an explanation, and you'll find a person who is cohesive, whose over-inclusiveness doesn't preclude cohesiveness.
Of course...that doesn't mean that I'm not a bit of a confused mess.

"The other terror that scares us from self-trust is our consistency; a reverence for our past act or word, because the eyes of others have no other data for computing our orbit than our past acts, and we are loath to disappoint them.
But why should you keep your head over your shoulder? Why drag about this corpse of your memory, lest you contradict somewhat you have stated in this or that public place? Suppose you should contradict yourself; what then? It seems to be a rule of wisdom never to rely on your memory alone, scarcely even in acts of pure memory, but to bring the past for judgment into the thousand-eyed present, and live ever in a new day. In your metaphysics you have denied personality to the Deity: yet when the devout motions of the soul come, yield to them heart and life, though they should clothe God with shape and color. Leave your theory, as Joseph his coat in the hand of the harlot, and flee.
A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little statesmen and philosophers and divines. With consistency a great soul has simply nothing to do. He may as well concern himself with his shadow on the wall. Speak what you think now in hard words, and to-morrow speak what to-morrow thinks in hard words again, though it contradict every thing you said to-day."
--Ralph Waldo Emerson Self Reliance
I come from, and choose to live in, the place where my family has lived on the good graces of the land for centuries. We have a temperate climate...a long growing season occasionally interrupted by hurricanes. We have "rich soil"--meaning it's half swamp muck and half sand. We have mosquitoes who could probably carry off livestock if they developed any sense of class consciousness. The residents are an interesting lot who make up for their shortage of teeth with an abundance of character.
I've learned to love who I am and where I come from because it's more enjoyable that hating it.
The point of this gibbering? Don't expect consistency from me. It's contrary to everything I've ever known.
I'm a force of nature and, for all our scientific learning, weather forecasters still have trouble predicting whether it really is going to rain tomorrow much less where a hurricane will hit.
I also hang out on:

Oh yeah, and you guys should buy me stuff....
